Codependency – Are You Stuck in Your Relationship?

Codependency – Are You Stuck in Your Relationship?
When we are unable to get out of a relationship that is painful and dysfunctional, this condition is called, Co-dependency. Many people suffer at physical, emotional and spiritual level due to this condition.
Co-dependency goes back to early role modeling. Our parents are caregivers. If they were co-dependent and they are role models, that kind of gets locked in our subconscious mind. Co-dependence also ties into huge abandonment fear, huge low self-esteem. If we’re in a codependent relationship we accept the abuse because on some level we don’t believe we’re worthy, we’re good enough to have a relationship where we’re treated well and we have these abandonment issues. If this loser who abuses me goes away, I will be abandoned. I will be scared. I will be terrified. I won’t know how to take care of myself. I won’t be able to live a good life. And I’ll never find somebody better.
Co-dependency really comes down to all these incredible fear messages and fear labels and self-labels. Most people pick ‘look alike’ partner like their parents. When you use PSYCH-K, go back to the core level and build their self-esteem, build their self confidence, eliminate the abandonment issues that go back to childhood when they were shamed and Mommy or Daddy said “Go to your room. You keep doing that I’m not going to like you’. Our child mind, our infant mind distorts early messages, early punitive messages from our parents and turns it into “uh-o, if I’m not a good girl or a good boy they’re going to go away and I’ll be all alone and that’s terrible.” And that sticks with people for the rest of their lives. And then when they’re in relationships that they call loving relationships, they’ve got all these embedded twisted perceptions of how relationships are supposed to work, keep us stuck in dysfunctional relationships.
PSYCH-K goes to those root distorted definitions of self and definitions of relationships, eliminate the issues of abandonment and fear and people will then be able to select partners that are healthy and avoid partners who are toxic and abusive then be able to sustain relationships.
Are you ready to free yourself from codependent behaviors and be in a loving and respectful relationship? I can help you! I work with people in person, by phone and via Skype. Reach me at rita@ritasoman.com and www.ritasoman.com

Addiction is Completely Curable

We have been programmed to believe that addiction to alcohol and drugs is genetically transmitted and an incurable disease. Typically, once such a diagnosis has been made, treatment and participation in 12-step programs such as AA (Alcoholic Anonymous) or NA (Narcotics Anonymous) is prescribed, as well as psychotropic medications for those individuals with co-occurring mental health diagnoses.
Dr. Bruce Lipton is a renowned scientist who has devoted his life to understanding human biology and behavior. In his book, The Biology of Belief, he shares the latest scientific discoveries about the biochemical nature of brain function and that, specifically, every cell in our body is affected by our thoughts, both positive and negative.
“The function of the mind is to create coherence between our beliefs and the reality we experience,” Dr. Lipton says. “What that means is that your mind will adjust the body’s biology and behavior to fit with your beliefs.”
If you’ve been told you are powerless and you have a disease that is incurable, and your mind believes it, you most likely will experience powerlessness and hopelessness. That’s called the nocebo effect, the result of a negative belief, which is the opposite of theplacebo effect, where healing is mediated by a positive belief.
“The ‘secret to life’ is BELIEF. Rather than genes, it is our beliefs that control our lives.” – Bruce Lipton, Ph.D Cellular Biologist, author of Biology of Belief. Consequently, we need to change the way we think and believe if we are to heal our addictions.

“Chronic substance use is the addict’s attempt to escape distress. From a medical point of view, addicts are self-medicating conditions like depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress or even ADHD and addictions. Addictions always originate in pain, whether felt openly or hidden in the unconscious. They are emotional anesthetics. Heroin and cocaine, both powerful painkillers, also ease psychological discomfort.” – Gabor Maté, a physician and author of In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts: Close Encounters with Addiction.
Dr. Mate states that addiction is not a cause. It causes things to happen. To treat an addiction as if it was isolated from the person’s life leaves the causes untouched, and the person untransformed. Typical counseling techniques, which rely almost exclusively on “insight” and “motivation,” seldom create real and lasting changes because these methods do not address the cause of addictions, which lie in the subconscious mind. The latest understandings in neuroscience are revealing important information for psychotherapists that at least 95% of our thoughts and decisions originate at the subconscious level of the mind (Zaltman 2003). That leaves a very small percentage of our decision-making capacity for the conscious mind to exercise.
People are told, “Addictions are incurable.” It is a belief we have bought into and I am here to say, it isn’t necessarily so. Just as we were led to believe the world was flat many years ago, and upon later investigation, it was proven incorrect, so it is with many diseases, health challenges and addictions: When we shift our way of thinking, we achieve different results.
PSYCH-K® is the Key to Shifting Limiting Beliefs
Developed by a psychotherapist, Robert M. Williams PSYCH-K® is a popular and effective system for subconscious change that has been successfully used for over 23 years by psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, professional performance coaches and many others. This process helps to re-write the self-limiting beliefs in a matter of minutes. It utilizes the whole-brain integration approach, which increases the communication between the left and right hemispheres of the brain. The whole-brain state is used as a foundation for quickly and effectively changing self-limiting subconscious beliefs and healing traumas.
“Research reveals that the Whole-Brain State is a significant contributor to human evolution. From a neuroscience perspective, it allows greater efficiency in the brain and enhances both conscious and subconscious processes. From quantum perspective, it is the gateway to higher consciousness.” – Dr. Jeffrey L. Fannin, Director for Cognitive Enhancement.
Addiction by itself is not the problem. It’s an expression of the problem. “Addictions are really the result of problems with self-esteem, shame and guilt embedded in the unconscious,” says Dr. Walter E. Jacobson, psychiatrist and author of the book Forgive to Win!
Basically, with PSYCH-K, people are able to tap into their core self definitions. We do that with a series of new suggestions, new definitions. It’s almost like post hypnotic suggestions where these new definitions replace the old ones. Once this is done, there is an alignment of the subconscious mind with the conscious desire to succeed and be happy.
This technique is a way to cut through all the stuff that therapy and medication can’t get to. It works very well with psychotherapy and other healing methods. It can easily be used by anyone for personal or professional use.
Ignorance can kill us or, at the very least, kill our spirit. It is incumbent upon us, as professionals, to educate ourselves with the latest technologies, methods and processes for sustained good health. Blending PSYCH-K with psychotherapy has allowed my clients to freely move forward in life, feeling joyful and empowered. I am passionate about sharing this work with those who are looking for ways to improve the quality of their life or help their clients/patients more effectively.
